More than a century of evolution and pure passion for the game has gone into the design, creation and maintenance of one of the jewels of Pocono golf courses: the links at Buck Hill Falls. Its first set of nine holes was built in 1907 and it grew to 18 holes in 1915 and gained its reputation of best golf course in the Pocono region.
The longest standing change to occur to this historic course came with the hiring of legendary course designer Donald Ross in 1922. Ross rebuilt all 18 holes in his well-known style: challenging slopes of greens, classic molding around bunkers and greens and use of vistas marked by tall trees and meandoring waterways. His style of designing friendly putting greens has been replicated in the course's newest nine-hole addition.
Over the next eight decades, only four of his holes have been changed significantly. More than a century after its original inception, this glorious 27-hole course includes a charming stone clubhouse complete with a dining room and bar, a pro shop, locker and showers.
